Bill Zylmans is a second generation Richmond farmer and owner of W & A Farms, one of the largest seed potato farms in western Canada. The Zylmans family has been farming in Richmond since they moved from Holland in 1948.
His farm stand, at the corner of Westminster Hwy & No. 8 Rd is one of the most succesful in Richmond. Apart from potatoes, Bill also sells strawberries, pumpkins and a whole variety of mixed vegetables.
Bill rents a large number of parcels from both private owners and the City and has extensive experience in approaching owners, getting a fair lease rate, and lease arrangements. He is a member of the Richmond Farmer's Institute, Richmond Agricultural Advisory Committee, and Metro Vancouver's Agricultural Advisory Committee
